Frequency of dressing change – Biatain® Super can be left on for several days, depending on the level of exudate.

Precautions If clinical signs of infection are present Biatain® Super should be used with an antimicrobial.

Contraindications Dressing should not be used on individuals who are sensitive to or who have had an allergic reaction to adhesive tapes and silicone.

Product type – polyurethane foam dressing.

Principle function – Lyofoam® max is a polyurethane foam dressing that absorbs exudate from the wound reducing the risk of maceration. Lyofoam® Max has high absorbency and fluid handling capacity with a waterproof backing film preventing bacterial and viral microbes entering the wound.

Recommended use – Indicated for the use of moderate to heavily exuding wounds. Ensure a 2cm overlap onto the surrounding skin. Also effective under compression therapy.

Frequency of dressing change – Lyofoam® Max can be left on for up to 7 days, depending on the level of exudate. A secondary product is required to secure the dressing in place. The dressing should be changed once 75% saturated.

Precautions – If clinical signs of infection are present, Lyofoam® Max can be continued if an appropriate antimicrobial primary dressing is commenced.

Contraindications –Any allergies to polyurethane products

Product type – superabsorbent dressing

Principle function –  Mextra® is a superabsorbent dressing with four layers that work To Absorb heavy amounts of exudate.  The dressing maintains it integrity and is not bulky. The outer layer remains dry and provides comfort for the patient.

Recommended use – Mextra® should be applied with a 2cm overlap onto the surrounding skin of the wound. Indicated for use in moderate to heavily exuding wounds. Mextra® can be used as a primary dressing directly over the wound or as a secondary dressing over an absorbent primary dressing.

Frequency of dressing change – Mextra® should be changed as clinically indicated.

Precautions –  do not cut the dressing, apply as a whole piece

Product type – Sorbact® Foam Dressing is suitable for low to moderately exuding wounds.

Principle function

Sorbact® Foam Dressing consists of the unique bacteria and fungi binding Sorbact® fabric laminated on polyurethane foam with a semi-permeable film backing. The dressing is conformable and pressure relieving.

Recommended use – Sorbact® Foam Dressing binds bacteria and fungi and can be used on clean, colonized, contaminated or infected wounds.

Areas of use

  • post-operative wounds
  • trauma wounds
  • pressure ulcers
  • diabetic ulcers
  • venous ulcers

Frequency of dressing change – Will depend on the amount the wound is exudating. The dressing should be changed at least twice a week. If the wound appears dry, saturate the dressing with sterile saline solution prior to removal.

Precautions –  Cover and secure Sorbact® Foam Dressing with an appropriate secondary dressing.

Contraindications – any conditions where hydrophobic activities within the body is contraindicated.

Principle function – Sorbact® Superabsorbent dressing which can be applied on clean, colonized, contaminated or infected wounds. Sorbact® Superabsorbent dressing will assist to reduce bioburden and protects clean wounds.

Recommended use – intended for use on heavy to excessively heavy exuding wounds. Suitable for use in compression therapy. Ensure green side is applied to the wound.

Frequency of dressing change – Will depend on the amount the wound is exudating. The dressing should be changed at least twice a week. If the wound appears dry, saturate the dressing with sterile saline solution prior to removal.

Precautions – If the wound bed is too dry Sorbact highly absorption dressing will not activate to work with the wound bed preparation.
